What do you get when one of the coolest women in the world teams up with a couture beauty brand? A new icon, that’s what, and it’s not long until we can get our hands on it. Big Little Lies actress Zoë Kravitz has teamed up with YSL Beauté to create a beautiful new Rouge Pur Couture lipstick collection and it’s one of our favourite edits yet.
The edgy range features six new shades which are all inspired by and named after important people in the model’s life – even including her dog, Scout. What a hero. The entire YSL Beauté x Zoë Kravitz collection is encased in a dramatic glossy black lacquer, embellished with silver glitter so the product looks as stylish as the colours within.
The actress said she was inspired by one of her favourite Saint Laurent bags, the Niki bag, to create the black-on-black packaging, while the sparkle was inspired by the Black Opium fragrance bottle – and it makes for an iconic-looking lipstick.
In the set are three nude shades and three red shades, all with different finishes so you can find the one that suits you. Are you No121 Arlene’s Nude? This satin-finish rosewood nude is named after Zoë’s grandmother, who the star says ‘always wore very simple to no makeup’, making the subtle shade perfectly apt. Or perhaps you’re No123 Maris’ Nude, a radiant matte lipstick in a warm brown hue which is named after her godmother. For those who prefer a hint of shimmer, the No125 Honey’s Nude is for you – a delicate rose nude, it gets its name from the model’s godmother Cree Summer whose nickname was Honey Brown.
Feeling bolder? If a red lip is your go-to, the three shades in Zoë’s collaboration with the brand will seriously float your makeup boat. No122 Wolf’s Red is a ‘universal intense bold red’ with a slightly satin finish, and is named after her brother – whose favourite colour is, you guessed it, red.
For lipstick fans who go for more orange undertones, the No124 Scout’s Red is our fave – not least because it’s named after the film star’s dog. It’s a bright, bold orange-red, with a matte finish that isn’t drying. Last but not least is the No126 Lale’s Red, a deeper, darker red with a shimmering satin finish; this more dramatic evening shade takes Zoë’s mum’s nickname.
The stunning new range is available exclusively from Harrods on 4th September – we predict a bestseller.
