It was previously announced that Guava Island, the new Childish Gambino film featuring Rihanna, would premiere this Saturday on the Coachella YouTube live stream. Tonight, Glover confirmed that the movie will be out earlier than that. On Saturday at 12:01 a.m., the film is set to arrive on Amazon Prime. “On Guava Island, a local musician is determined to throw a festival for everyone to enjoy,” reads the film’s description. The movie is described as a “tropical thriller,” and it’s directed by Glover’s “Atlanta” collaborator Hiro Murai. A trailer for the movie surfaced last year.
