1 Gymkhana, Mayfair
Gymkhana will be opening for the first time on Sunday to celebrate Mother’s Day with dishes from their iconic à la carte menu of signature nashta, kebabs, tikkas, chops, curries and biryanis, as well as a special roast offering of Phagwara Tandoori Kuddad (£38 for two). Guests will also be offered a cocktail from the restaurant’s new menu, inspired by the majestic scents of luxury British perfume house, Penahligons. All mothers dining at Gymkhana on Mother’s Day will receive a small gift of either a Penhaligon’s Vaara fragrance or candle.

2 Spring, Somerset House
Skye Gyngell’s restaurant, Spring, located in the New Wing of Somerset House, is usually closed on Sunday, but will be opening especially for Mothering Sunday on 31 March. The restaurant is also treating mums to a complimentary Rose Petal Bellini, topped with a candied rose petal, alongside their normal à la carte menu. The beautiful, elegant restaurant – perfect for mums who appreciate a feminine touch when it comes to decor – serves produce-driven food that is celebrated for its conviviality. While enjoying the critically-acclaimed a la carte menu – which features dishes like wild halibut with roasted endive and blood orange butter (£35) and fillet of beef with harissa, onion rings and wild garlic labneh (£36). 3 Plate Restaurant Shoreditch
Plate Restaurant in Shoreditch is introducing the Host & Roast for Mother’s Day, a sharing feast for 2-4 people created by award-winning ex-Pierre Koffmann and Gordon Ramsay Head Chef Arnaud Stevens. The feast costs £40pp, but mums dine for free! The Host & Roast centrepiece is a whole Cumbrian chicken, surrounded by crisp roasted vegetables and juicy chicken leg stuffing, alongside charred leeks, succulent roast potatoes, spiced cauliflower, and chicken jus – all for sharing. Alongside the roast, 12 other dishes have been created just for the day, including a caramelised apple puree and toasted brioche to start, roast Atlantic cod with buttered Jersey royals for the main and desserts of bread and butter pudding and a chocolate hazelnut praline fondant. Mums eat free when accompanied by another paying adult and the Host & Roast must be pre-ordered. Priced £40pp.

4 Kids Takeover Chef’s Counter at Social Eating House, Soho
Michelin-starred dining and kids don’t normally mix well, but at Jason Atherton’s Social Eating House in Soho, kids get to takeover the Chef’s Counter with a very special cookie decorating activity this Mother’s Day. Guests can enjoy a four-course menu featuring dishes such as roasted Cumbrian 45-day aged sirloin with morel and shallot cream, Wye valley asparagus and crispy oxtail. For dessert, save a little room for the lavender crème caramel with London honey granita. Available for lunch only and priced £45pp.

Craft London, which doesn’t usually open on Sundays, is treating mums to a very special Sunday roast on Mothers Day. The one-off menu, created by chef Stevie Parle and his team, starts with sparkling wine on arrival for mum, followed by a choice of three starters (Chicken & Tarragon Terrine, Cured Bream with Beetroot & Smoked yoghurt, and Purple Sprouting Broccoli with Candied Hazelnuts), four mains (Roast Peppered Beef, Berkshire Pork Belly, Roast Leeks with Smoked Jersey Royals & Rainbow Chard, and Cornish Hake), and a choice of three desserts (Celeriac Ice Cream with Pears & Rye Biscuit, Rhubarb and Lemon Verbena Ice Cream, or Chocolate Aero and Jerusalem Artichoke Ice Cream. £35pp.

LIDO, the members-only rooftop brasserie boasting stunning views of the London skyline, in Shoreditch, is serving up a traditional Sunday roast on Mother’s Day. Exclusively for members of The Curtain, LIDO is a day-to-night brasserie serving up fresh, seasonal fare, and when the sun shines, the retractable glass roof comes off and there’s even a Moroccan-inspired pool. Dishes include roast Cumbrian beef sirloin, half roasted chicken with sage & pork stuffing, and roasted cauliflower with cheese, all served with traditional trimmings. 8 Three Course Sunday Roast Menu at Rotunda, King’s Cross
Rotunda Bar and Restaurant is offering up quite the Mother’s Day Sunday roast on 31 March. You’ll be greeted at the bar in style with the chef’s choice of canapés and a glass of Brocard Pierre ‘Tradition’ (or a bloody Mary), before moving through to the restaurant, where you’ll indulge in a three-course menu with a bottle of wine, followed by a digestif drink. The menu, priced £65pp, includes a seafood platter to share, Roast Corneyside Farm sirloin to share (served with unlimited roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and gravy), and a choice of dessert.

9 The Baptist Grill, Holborn
The Baptist Grill at L’Oscar Hotel, Holborn, is serving an exclusive Mothering Sunday menu on 31 March. Priced at £60 for three courses, starters include a seasonal asparagus soup with truffle and comte toasts, while main courses feature a traditional roast Cumbrian beef sirloin with glazed short rib, Anna potatoes and purple broccoli served from the carving trolley, as well as Executive Chef Tony Fleming’s seasonally changing butternut pithivier with sage, parmesan and mustard fruits. Desserts include cardamom custard tart with rhubarb and white chocolate.

10 Roast, Borough Market
Roast by name, roast by nature… this iconic restaurant, sitting atop the historic Borough Market, is a beautiful spot to celebrate Mother’s Day. The restaurant uses seasonal British ingredients to create classic dishes of uncomplicated excellence, and naturally, the eponymous ‘full and proper’ roast is a particular highlight. The 48-day dry-aged beef comes served with a fluffy Yorkshire pudding, rosemary roasties and horseradish cream. Other delicious options available on 31 March include slow roasted lamb shoulder studded with rosemary and garlic and pork belly with Bramley apple sauce.

11 The Goring, Belgravia
The Goring just so happens to be the Queen’s favourite hotel, so what better way to treat mum than a Michelin-starred Mother’s Day at The Dining Room? The menus offer innovative and refined British dishes, made using seasonal ingredients from across the UK. Starters on the Sunday lunch menu include Seared Orkney scallop with celeriac, truffle sauce and pickled celery, followed by main dishes of Saddle of roe deer with salsify, creamed spelt, venison sausage and Delica pumpkin, or Roast cod with buttered sea kale, cauliflower, seared squid, caviar and Champagne sauce. Alternatively, for a more traditional Sunday lunch, roast rib of beef comes served on a silver trolley and carved tableside with all the classic trimmings.
