There’s already a Bun House on Greek Street and come February, there’ll be a second, bigger one on Chinatown’s Lisle Street. The double-fronted, two floor restaurant will be in-keeping with their signature style (designed by co-founder Z He’s Five Line Projects), featuring dark wood, brass fixtures and rattan furniture. On the ground floor, you’ll find a counter and a small dining room, with space for more covers upstairs.
Cantonese steamed buns will very much be the focus at Bun House 2.0, with newbies like a beef brisket bun and a pineapple bun joining the char siu pork belly, cumin-spiked lamb and sweet custard varieties. Taking inspiration from Hong Kong street food stalls, there’ll also be snacks like curried fish balls and cheung fun on the menu too, with HK craft beers, cold-brewed tea and tea-based cocktails on the drinks list.
In the mood for Chinese food right now? Here’s where to get it.
Opens February 2019
