I’m a lipstick hoarder and haircare obsessive. Day-to-day I have a relatively uncomplicated makeup routine but I like to switch it up for nights out. I love an eye palette which will give me lots of options to play with for when I’m either feeling bold or playing it safe.
WHAT I USUALLY LOOK FOR IN AN EYESHADOW PALETTE:
Warm, earthy or neutral tones and a good balance of matte and metallic shades.
This product is a Morphe OG – it’s one of their best-selling eyeshadow palettes and a Morphe-fan must-have. At £23 for 35 shades, it’s not hard to see why. The mix of warm neutrals, oranges and coppers are ideal for autumnal looks so with the change of season I couldn’t wait to apply these shadows to my lids.
Despite a lot of hype surrounding the brand, this is my first time trying Morphe products so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Swatched with my fingertips, the shades are beautifully pigmented – but this doesn’t always translate when applied with a brush on the eye. The brown darker shades at times feel a little chalky on the skin but overall, most of the shadows are very pigmented and blend fairly easily.
I’m always drawn to warm and copper tones so these were the shades I’ve been testing out the most. I’ve mostly been wearing these eyeshadows with the Morphe Eyelid Primer and I think it’s been helping the shades last longer on the skin. I need to remember not to sleep on the metallic and shimmer shades too – these look so beautiful on the eye and the more neutral shades are a stunning browbone highlight.
Whilst the shadows are good for the price, the packaging leaves a little to be desired – simple black plastic, no mirror and no shade names. I’m a sucker for great packaging but in all honesty, as the product is good, this doesn’t really bother me, and the basic packaging is probably why the cost of this palette is so low.
For the price, this palette is an absolute steal. Some of the 35 shades are very similar but there’s enough variety to create different looks whether you want something bold or more paired back. The orange and fiery tones alone make this palette worth it for me and I expect to be using these a lot during the rest of this season.
