How’s this for a Sweet 16 present? Just 5 days after her birthday, Lila Grace Moss-Hack, daughter of supermodel, Kate Moss, and self-confessed makeup lover was announced as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty.
Shooting the campaign was a true fashion family affair, as Marc himself revealed in a touching Insta post. “When I met @lilamoss for the first time in 2008, at just 6 years old, Lila’s strong character, demeanor and great beauty was already very apparent. It was a bit surreal to have Kate in the studio with Lila as it brought back memories of the first time I met Kate when she was 18 years old,” he wrote.
And like all good makeup obsessives, she reveals she watches makeup tutorials for inspiration. Her viewing faves include Nikkie Tutorials and also Kylie Jenner‘s Snapchat Stories for the up-close details.
Heading to NYC for the shoot, she admits excitement levels were high…
“When mum told me Marc wanted to couple up with mum and me, I couldn’t believe it. It was such a dream come true. It feels amazing [to be the face of the campaign].
Any supermodel beauty advice handed down from Kate?
“Mum always says, ’Less is more. To go with a fresh face and not use too much bronzer!’ so I usually keep my look pretty simple. I think it’s better not to wear makeup all the time and to take a break, that makes it exciting when you do wear a look.”
Copper shadow is her favourite look now…
“I love a gold, coppery eye as it’s great with my green eyes. I just tried the look out at home and loved it. The You Slay colour in the palette [Leopard Frost Flamboyant Palette, £39, Marc Jacobs] is the perfect shade for this.”
So is it one big beauty swap and share in the bathroom at home?
“Yes, we do but recently mum stole my new Velvet Noir Mascara [£22, Marc Jacobs]. Don’t worry though – I’ll be getting it back!”
Already a skincare pro, her daily go-to is…
“I always use the Beauty Elixir spray [£32 Caudalie] every day before moisturising. It works! And it makes you look more glowy and dewy. I always wash my face and moisturise before bed.
And for a wellness boost…
“I’ll have a massage. Who doesn’t love a good massage?”
so, where does mum stand on wearing makeup to school?
“As long as it’s not green eyeshadow she doesn’t mind me wearing makeup for school. If it’s natural and fresh, that’s fine.”
In her makeup bag R.N…
“I love this pale pink lipgloss called Pink Tickler [Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lip Gloss, £22], the Highliner [Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Blacquer £20], and the Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter [£32, all Marc Jacobs], and I also have some Charlotte Tilbury that I love.”
So is she dead set on following in mum’s modelling footsteps?
“I’ve really enjoyed it, but for now I am doing my A-levels and we’ll see what happens.”
And whatever she decides, we’ll sure be watching.
