The first stills from the highly-anticipated BBC TV adaption of the celebrated Victor Hugo novel and cult-classic musical, Les Misérables, are here!
Although the new six-part drama involves no singing or dancing like movie musical, it’s promised to be an epic recreation of the 19th-century French phenomenon.
And now, we’ve been allowed to see some very familiar faces in their costumes for the first time – including a radiant Lily Collins playing Fantine, who was championed by Anne Hathaway in the 2012 film.
The star-studded lineup also includes Olivia Colman, Ellie Bamber and Dominic West, with David Oyelowo as Javert – the first time in the story’s history that a black actor has been cast in the role for a TV adaptation.
Star of Netflix’s The Crown, Olivia Colman will be playing Madame Thénardier, whilst Adeel Akhtar will pose as her on-screen husband in the iconic role of Thénardier.
The cast shot scenes in Belgium and northern France earlier this year, and the six-part series is expected to air in early 2019.
We can’t WAIT for the first trailer to be released…
In the meantime, here are the best TV series of all time to keep you entertained.
