From Villanelle’s epic on-screen wardrobe to the dark yet hilarious script, Killing Eve is arguably the best thing that’s graced our TVs this year (sorry, Bodyguard).

The BBC3 drama, penned by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, sees Villannelle (played by kickass Jodie Comer) chased by MI5 Agent, Eve (Sandra Oh). It goes beyond enthralling; it’s addictive and the whole world is hooked on her every move.

And if you’re more eager for season 2 than Villanelle is for her next victim, we come bearing good news.

Not only is Killing Eve season 2 definitely happening, it’s coming to a TV near you a lot sooner than you think.

When is Killing Eve season 2 out?

While we don’t have an exact date (sorry!), we *do* know that it’s coming and it’s coming soon.

Speaking at the Hewlett Memorial Lecture, BBC’s Charlotte Moore promised fans that they will “not have to wait so long next time” for new episodes to make their way from American to British TV, which is great news because, quite frankly, we can’t wait.

Charlotte also described the series as “a truly genre-busting series that’s had viewers hooked and craving more, thanks to the distinctive voice of Phoebe Waller Bridge brought to life by an incredible cast” and added: “We’re really excited to have it back on the BBC next year.”

We know that the show has already started filming, with the crew and show’s stars spotted filming in Amsterdam, Paris and London.

We’ll be waiting patiently…

Who will be in the Killing Eve season 2 cast?

As well as the welcome return of Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, the show will welcome Nina Sosanya, who has starred in W1A, Marcella and Last Tango in Halifax.

Edward Bluemel, who has starred in Liam Neeson’s thriller The Commuter and the upcoming show A Discovery of Witches, will also join the cast, while The Mighty Boosh’s Julian Barratt will make an appearance.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge won’t be involved in writing the next season, which is being head up by Call The Midwife’s Emerald Fennell.

The show has been so popular that BBC reports that there have been over 26 million requests for the series on iPlayer.

We are literally counting down the days and will keep you updated when we know more!

In the meantime, why not binge on the best TV series of all time?
