While being a celebrity has always meant that you’re followed by paparazzi, hounded on every corner during your off-time and even on your holidays, the introduction of social media means that celebs give up even more of their privacy to appease their loyal fans.
Ultimately, this 24-hour access we have to celebs can lead to an unhealthy situation where people think they actually know the person, and they can become really attached.
Kendall Jenner‘s no stranger to this, having previously divulged on KUWTK that someone shows up to her house ‘every day’, but it seems the latest situation has unnerved her enough to clap back – and we’re not surprised. The 22-year-old model has hit out in a Twitter rant, after a man who’d broken into her house numerous times was arrested again, found ‘sitting by her pool’.
Her anger was directed at TMZ, who she said should be “ashamed” of their actions, for releasing details of her property. Replying to the outlet’s tweet, she wrote,
“and how do you guys think these terrifying people know where my house is? cuz you release not only photos but my location. it is so beyond unsafe. is this not our one ounce of privacy we can get???”
She continued: “i understand what i’ve signed up for but when you release the exact location to where i live THAT is when you’re putting my life in danger. your home is your safe haven, but for me, cuz of outlets like you, my home is anything BUT. you should be ashamed of yourself.”
The man was arrested on Tuesday, October 16, as he had a restraining order and was trespassing on the property. It isn’t the first time he’s been arrested for the same offence; he was warned to stay away from the property back in July, too.
Regardless of your level of fame, having someone trespass on your property can be a terrifying ordeal – we hope Kendall’s okay.
